Hilltop Home Raises Funds Through the Annual Performance of a Christmas Carol

Local Nonprofit Intermediate Care Facility for Children Partners with Area Businesses This Holiday Season

Raleigh, NC, December 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Hilltop Home, a private, nonprofit intermediate care facility (ICF) that supports children with severe developmental disabilities and medical fragility, raised funds through sponsorship opportunities and tickets sales to Theatre In The Park’s 39th annual performance of A Christmas Carol. The sponsorship event took place on the show’s opening night, Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

Hilltop Home provides children from newborns to 18 years of age with a comprehensive rehabilitative program that includes individualized medical, therapeutic and developmental/educational services in a homelike residential setting. The program is designed to assist children with multiple disabilities and medical fragility to reach their fullest potential.

The Dec. 12 sponsorship event offered local businesses and individuals the opportunity to support the facility’s children by choosing from five levels of corporate giving that included preferred seating and a pre-show reception. Hilltop Home sold more than 450 tickets, which accounted for more than 20% of ticket sales for the show’s opening night. The event’s largest sponsors were Cornerstone Therapeutics and Guardian Capital Advisors, LLC.

Many Hilltop Home employees and two Hilltop children were able to attend the performance thanks to a generous sponsor donation. Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane and City Councilman Bonner Gaylord were also in attendance for the opening night performance. During a special presentation after the show, McFarlane and Gaylord presented Ira David Wood III, who has played the leading role of Scrooge since 1974, with a proclamation declaring the week of the run of A Christmas Carol 2014 as “Ira David Wood III’s A Christmas Carol Week.”
