Portland, OR, January 05, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Kids -- from infants to teens -- enter foster care with few or no possessions. They’re away from everything familiar, and the holiday season can be particularly hard. While foster parents are paid a monthly stipend, those funds are totally insufficient to meet all of the needs of a growing child.
With that in mind, several Oregon law firms and lawyers banded together to hold a toy drive, and make the holidays a little brighter for local foster children.
Hundreds of toys were collected, along with several hundred dollars in gift cards, for the Sleep Train Secret Santa Toy Drive for Foster Kids.
“That (is) an incredible amount of donations … Thank you again for yours and everyone’s efforts to support the Sleep Country Foster Kids Program.” - Jarrett Tomalin, Sleep Country USA, Community Relations Coordinator
D'Amore Law Group as well as Davis Law Offices (Portland), Littler Mendelson (Portland), Gresham Injury Law Center (Gresham), Parks Law Offices (Portland) and Kehoe Law LLC (Portland) collected toys and gifts for foster children in Oregon and Washington.
