Preschool Children Plant Tree for Tu B'Shvat

Jacksonville, FL, January 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- On Tuesday, January 13th students at Ganeinu – Early Childhood Development Center posted a very special certificate at their butterfly garden with great pride – certification from the North American Butterfly Association. Each week, students carefully tend to their garden which boasts an array of native plants and trees that provide resources for and attract a spectrum of beautiful butterflies.

The timing of this is not coincidental. Thursday, January 16th was the Jewish New Year for Trees. As they do each year, Ganeinu students planted a new Tree on this special day as well.

Mrs. Chana Novack, Ganeinu Director said, “We are so grateful to our outstanding gardening teacher, Mrs. Laura Goldstein for her dedication and hard work instilling a love for and knowledge of nature in our students.”

The certification comes after years of building towards this goal by carefully cultivating native plants and trees and painstakingly developing the butterfly garden.

Ganeinu – Jacksonville’s premier Jewish preschool is a boutique preschool dedicated to providing children with the experiences and tools to aid in their education and development.
