Sport Resource Group Announces New Portable Soft Foam Gaga Pits

Minneapolis, MN, February 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Minneapolis-based Sport Resource Group is excited to announce the debut of their SRG Soft Foam Portable Gaga Pits. Gaga is the most exciting game taking schools, recreation centers and camps by storm. The sport of Gaga is derived from the Hebrew word for “hit” and is played in a self-contained octagon. Players attempt to avoid the Gaga ball which is directed toward them by other players. To increase safety, the ball is only allowed to touch players below the knees. If a player causes a ball to touch another player above the knees or hits the ball out of the Gaga pit, that player is out of the game.

There are many reasons for Gaga’s popularity, but three of the biggest factors are (a) there is no need for the kids to wear expensive protective equipment, (b) a typical Gaga pit can fit up to 30 kids in an area measuring less than 600 sq ft and (c) Gaga is so much fun, some kids don’t even know they are exercising.

To date, the largest challenges of implementing the game of Gaga in gyms and rec centers across the country has been the cost of Gaga pits, the set up and disassembly time and storage space. With Sport Resource Group’s new Portable Foam Gaga Pits, all three of these obstacles have been overcome. A few of the advantages of the SRG Soft Foam Gaga Pits are:

Pricing – SRG Soft Foam Gaga Pits range in price from $1,500 - $2,900
Safety - SRG Soft Foam Gaga Pits are made out of an open-cell, high-density foam which allows the panels to absorb a player’s fall and not lose shape
Durability - SRG Soft Foam Gaga Pits are covered with an ultra-durable, tear-resistant vinyl
Versatility - SRG Soft Foam Gaga Pits come in a variety of heights and sizes.
The SRG EXTREME Soft Foam Gaga Pit is made up of Eight (8) 12” high x 10 ft long panels. They form an octagon measuring 24 ft x 24 ft across, but when stored, store in an area measuring 2 ft x 2 ft x 10 ft.
The SRG MAJOR Soft Foam Gaga Pit is made up of Seven (7) 22” high x 10 ft long panels and ONE (1) 12” high X 10 ft long panel which is used as a “stepover” panel for entry and exit. They form an octagon measuring 24 ft x 24 ft across, but when stored, store in an area measuring 3 ft x 4 ft x 10 ft.

In addition to Gaga, SRG Portable Panels can also be used for containing games such as floor hockey, soccer, bowling, football and more. Each SRG Soft Foam Gaga Pit can extend out to provide 80 linear feet of boundaries.

“The Gaga Pit has been game-changer (literally) at American Indian Magnet - especially during indoor recess. It has elevated the activity for kids of all ages at recess and sparked a lot of laughter. Because it's portable and adjustable, Coach Saja can use it in a variety of spaces in the school. On days the gym is not available for indoor recess (which is most days), she can set it up in the lobby and gets several classes active quickly. Teachers and school staff are jumping into the games and it's increased both the activity and diversity of the games we can offer at recess," said Tom Evers, Playworks Minnesota Executive Director.
