Undefeated Florida Stingrays to Host Inaugural Friends and Family Night

Fort Myers, FL, March 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Florida Stingrays semi-professional football team is celebrating their community involvement by hosting their inaugural Friends & Family night on Saturday, March 8, 2014. A host of team members, family, friends, community members and leaders will be present at the game to continue to encourage unity and prosperity through sportsmanship and education.

“The team has been looking forward to this weekend for a long time. We’re riding a wave of emotion, as we’re on track to not only go undefeated, but possibly bring home a championship to Fort Myers” – Jay Lawrence, President.

As of February 26th, the Stingrays are ranked #1 in the United Football Federation, and #3 in the State of Florida amongst other semi-pro teams. Despite this accomplishment being built upon the hard work and dedication of the team, the team and its management feel this streak is directly related to the improvements and changes in the lives of the team members and their immediate circle of influence.

“We have players on this team that not only wanted a second chance at football, but needed a second chance at life. Our program, with their hard work and dedication, is changing lives in Southwest Florida. The team recognizes that and wants to give back.” – David Adorno, Public Relations & Marketing

On Saturday, March 8th, the Stingrays host the South Florida Saints at Rutenberg Park, located at 6500 South Pointe Blvd, Fort Myers, Florida 33919. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Entry is $7 for adults. Groups of adults of 2 or more enter for $5 each. Kids under 15 are free.

About the Florida Stingrays: The Florida Stingrays Football organization is not just a semi-pro football team, we are a program that reaches out and teaches young men in our local community to become better in areas of strength and discipline.

The Stingray’s coaching staff has decades of experience in the football environment, with their main priority to mold young men into reaching for and preparing for higher goals by teaching and providing them with the experience of bringing an active recreational sport into their daily lives.

The Stingrays Mentor Program believes that as a team of character, dignity, and respect, each player brings a sense of uniqueness of design. They all have a back-story, sharing similar experiences and life lessons while sharing field time, teach the game, help during games and most important, feel connected and share some laughs.
