)-- On August 15, 2013, The Universal Building Network launched a brand new social media networking and marketing platform designed specifically for construction businesses and the sub-contractors, collaborators, and consumers who do business with them. Less than eight months after launching, the site, UBuildNet (www.ubuildnet.com), has realized a consistently accelerating rate of new joiners and has attracted over a million site visits. The site has gained investor and advertiser support, and since inception has implemented its first significant new release with a second major site upgrade planned for the near future.
Up to this point, UBuildNet has focused on developing its business-to-business interface. Members sign up at no cost, establish a free business profile, and set up searchable criteria that will help others find, connect, communicate, and contract with them. By sending and accepting “uConnection” requests, communicating with new connections using the site’s messaging utility, and cultivating the most promising connections into real relationships via phone and in-person contacts, members of the UBuildNet community already have engaged new contractors, providers, and suppliers to advance their mutual business goals. The upcoming site release will introduce a business-to-consumer portal that will let individuals search for contractors in their area who can meet the needs of their home, office, or facility improvement needs.
UBuildNet has goodies for construction businesses and others who are not yet ready to join, including a Networking Corner and a Toolbox containing useful links and downloadable information and tools that can be downloaded and used by contractors or others. Items in the Toolbox, for example, include project, proposal, and budget templates, checklists, loan amortization schedules, and more. Those who do register additionally may benefit from the rich social features of the site – one-to-one connecting, networking, and sharing - all with an aim to increase success. Said John R.
