Enterprising Women Welcomes Three New Members to Advisory Board

Sandy Riser, Debbi Shapiro and Aliza Sherman to Serve as Board Members

Raleigh, NC, April 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine, has appointed Sandy Riser, Debbi Shapiro and Aliza Sherman to the Enterprising Women Advisory Board. The Enterprising Women Advisory Board is comprised of a select group of women and men who show their support for the publication and give back to the women business owners’ community — helping provide leadership, motivation and inspiration to thousands of women entrepreneurs across the United States and Canada and around the world.

Sherman is a web and social mobile pioneer whose work has assisted in shaping the early new media industry. As an international keynote speaker and author of 10 books, she has helped pave the way for women to make their voices heard online. In addition to starting the first woman-owned Internet company in the early ‘90s, Cybergrrl, Inc., Sherman has been writing, speaking and consulting on social media since 2006 and social mobile marketing since 2010. She is also well known for her expertise on women’s technology and business issues.

As president and CEO of Henderson Shapiro Peck, Debbi Shapiro began her career as a regional marketing director for a national fast food chain and marketing manager in the hospitality industry. In 1994, Shapiro founded Henderson Shapiro Peck as a marketing support company with a team of two. Today, the firm boasts 25 marketing strategists and other creative geniuses that collaborate daily. Shapiro’s professional interest lies within the healthcare space, including private practice and technology, and publishing.

In addition to starting her own marketing firm, Shapiro is the author of "The Common Thread: 35 Years of the Peachtree Road Race T-Shirt" and is a founding member of The Tiffany Circle, a society dedicated to the women who give their time and talent to the American Red Cross and co-founder of Gesher L’ Torah Synagogue, a congregation in Alpharetta, Ga.

Riser founded The Next Level Business Solutions in 2006. She is a highly motivated and dynamic executive, with more than 30 years of experience with small and large organizations, serving her clients as their trusted advisor for business growth. In addition to owning her own business, Riser served as the executive director of the Tucson Jazz Society nonprofit organization for three years and in 2012 launched her own concert production company, SwanRise Productions, specializing in bringing great local and international jazz artists to southern Arizona. Riser has received numerous awards for both her business and community service initiatives. She also serves on the board of the Organization for Entrepreneurial Development.
