Winterfest Announces New Board Members

Fort Lauderdale, FL, April 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Winterfest, a Florida not-for-profit organization known as the producers of "The World’s Most Watched Boat Parade," announces three new board of directors members.

"New board members Elizabeth Nasser, Shane Strum and Ben Wesley were selected from nominations reviewed by a committee and current chairman Kenneth A. Ortner," said Lisa Scott Founds, Winterfest President & CEO. The new board members will be installed for a one year term on April 14, 2014.

The Winterfest board of directors is composed of 50 remarkable people who are spokespeople for this South Florida signature event.

Elizabeth Nasser is the Director of the Baptist Endoscopy Center at Coral Springs. Baptist Health South Florida has sponsored the Santa Showboat in the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade for four years and has hosted over 20 charities throughout the years.

Shane Strum, Associate Vice Chancellor of Business Development at Keiser University is a past advisory member of Winterfest, Inc.

Ben Wesley, the External Affairs Manager for FPL, has been involved in the Winterfest Jr. Captain program in which a non-profit organization selects a child to be honored in the Parade. Last year, the FPL showboat hosted Jr. Captain Lauren Bendesky representing A Prom to Remember charity.

The involvement of the diverse Winterfest board, enhances awareness of the Boat Parade and other events in the community.
