WikiTrend.org: The Smart Watch is on the Verge

The trends-spotting collective notes the recent surge in smart watch ideas.

New York, NY, April 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- WikiTrend.org, the worldwide trends collective, is seeing a surge in smart watch features. While the trend did not take off as expected last year, there are numerous reasons to believe this year will provide great results for the technology.

“Recently, the smart watch has become significantly more user friendly,” a WikiTrend.org spokesperson says. “In 2013, the idea of a smart watch caught the attention of the market, but little about it made users want to switch from their smart phones. In 2014, that could change.”

One of the most important developments is the self-charging watch. Instead of having to plug a watch into an outlet to recharge as one would a phone, technology is appearing that prevents the need to worry over finding an outlet. Additionally, apps are starting to appear for smart watches. Developers are realizing the importance of the smart watch and are working to be prepared, which is finally providing smart watch users with technology comparable to the smart phone. Even greater convenience is being introduced, as smart watches are now being integrated with technology that allows the user to pay automatically while using a watch.

“Smart watches are being developed to bypass the smart phone,” a WikiTrend.org spokesperson says. “Now, they are starting to feature technology that equals or bypasses the positive traits of the smart phone. By positioning the product this way, developers may be able to convince consumers to make the switch.”
