Cameron Village Brings the Music Back with CV Live

Free event on Friday April 25 from 6-10 p.m. Once the height of the music scene for the southeast, Cameron Village brings the music up from the famous Underground to a street concert featuring The Love Language. Up and comers on the indie rock scene the band will headline an event featuring music, fashion and food.

Raleigh, NC, April 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Underground music scene returns to Cameron Village, this time Aboveground. On April 25th, Cameron Village will once again be the place to see and hear the next big thing at a Free community event.

Concert
In the '60s and '70s, the Village Subway was the hotbed of the underground music scene. It attracted then up-and-coming acts such as Pat Benatar, Doc Watson, Steppenwolf, Iggy Pop, .38 special, Jimmy Buffet, The Ramones, R.E.M., Bette Midler, Tom Waits and Muddy Waters. The Subway was the place. The Underground was the movement that propelled young talent to a bigger stage.

The Love Language is part of the local Raleigh music scene and is poised to jump onto the national scene...but not before they play Cameron Village.

Fashioon
A fast paced fashion preview features boutiques from the Village and outfits will be given away via social media. Participating stores include Anna & Alice, The Art of Style, Bailey's, bevello, fab'rik, Fedora, FiFi's, Great Outdoor Provision Co, Handpicked, Haley's, Jitty's, Lori and Lulu, Madison, Opulence of SP, Palm Avenue, Rangoni, Ten Thousand Villages, Uniquities and Victorian Rose Bridal.

Food
Cafe Carolina, Cameron Bar and Grill, Cantina 18, Chick-fil-A, Flying Biscuit Cafe and Brixx Wood Fired Pizza will be giving out free tastings starting at 6 p.m. on Daniels St.

Drink sales will benefit Band Together NC. Band Together is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses live music as a platform for social change. They have been a force of positive change and impact in the Triangle community for nearly 12 years. Every year, after a rigorous vetting process, Band Together chooses a different Triangle nonprofit in need. In 2014, their partnership will be the first with two non-profits—Communities in Schools of Durham and Communities in Schools of Wake County.

Cameron Village is partnering with Raleigh Brewing Company. They will be tapping three different beer selections. Beer and wine will be available for purchase for those 21 and over. Please leave coolers, lawn chairs, pets & drink containers at home.
