Altoros Became a Silver Member of the Cloud Foundry Foundation, Bringing the Total Number of Members to 33

Together with other 15 Silver Members, Altoros has joined the Cloud Foundry Foundation to further help the community establish Cloud Foundry as an open standard for enterprise PaaS.

Sunnyvale, CA, June 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- 16 new companies have joined the Cloud Foundry Foundation as Silver Members on May 29, 2014. The list includes Altoros, Alpine Data Labs, Anchora, Anynines, AppDynamics, Azul Systems, Blue Box, Canonical, CloudCredo, Docker, jFrog, MongoDB, Piston Cloud Computing, Redis Labs, Stark & Wayne, and Telus. As a company that brings “software assembly lines” to organizations through training, deployment, and integration of Cloud Foundry-based solutions, Altoros will keep on bringing its resources to help the foundation establish Cloud Foundry as an open standard for enterprise Platform-as-a-Service.

Cloud Foundry Foundation: the facts

The Cloud Foundry Foundation is a non-profit legal entity established in February 2014 to provide formal governance for Cloud Foundry, an open source Platform-as-a-Service. The founding companies behind the Cloud Foundry Foundation, which are also the “Platinum” sponsors, included Pivotal, VMware, EMC, IBM, HP, Rackspace, and SAP. Additionally, ActiveState and CenturyLink were announced as “Gold” founding sponsors.

At the beginning of May 2014, eight new Gold-level members joined the foundation: Accenture, BNY Mellon, Capgemini, Ericsson, GE, Intel, NTT, and Verizon. The new expansion on May 29, 2014 added 16 Silver Members, bringing the total number of foundation benefactors to 33.

Why Altoros joins the foundation

Since the first days of the Cloud Foundry release, Altoros has been its devoted fan and an active contributor. The company delivered the Cloud Foundry Vagrant Installer back in the times when only a few people had deployed Cloud Foundry v2. The company was among the pioneers who contributed code to the early CF v2 releases, including development of BOSH CPIs and Juju Charms.

“Altoros will continue to contribute resources and code to help the Foundation fulfill its mission,” said Renat Khasanshyn, CEO of Altoros. “Just over the past 45 days, I’ve travelled twice across the US to promote Cloud Foundry at eight developer events: from Silicon Valley to Boston and New York, from Washington DC to San Diego and Los Angeles. Thank you, my colleagues at Altoros and our partners at Pivotal/EMC, IBM, HP, ActiveState, and Canonical, for making this happen.”

What’s next: the Cloud Foundry Summit

During June 9–11, 2014, the foundation members will discuss the future roadmap of Cloud Foundry (both the platform and the community) at the CF Summit in San Francisco, CA. 600+ attendees at large have already registered to share their best practices. As part of the ecosystem, Altoros supports the event as a Gold Sponsor and will deliver a lightning talk.

In addition, two in-depth Cloud Foundry trainings are scheduled by Altoros for June 9 and 12. The workshops will be geared at developers and DevOps who would like to prepare for the CF Summit and gain practical skills in deploying and operating Cloud Foundry.

Until June 6, 2014, one can take advantage of the promo code CFWS and get $300 off the tuition cost (valid for the first 20 registered):
