2014 Miss Born Natural Beauty Pageant

Promoting South Carolina's first beauty pageant promoting the embrace of natural hair and inner beauty. In the following months, the pageant will be taken across the country.

Columbia, SC, June 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Miss Born Natural Beauty Pageant (MBNB) & Natural Hair/Wellness Expo announces their first annual pageant in Columbia, SC on July 19th, 2014 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center located at 1101 Lincoln Street, Columbia, SC. The proceeds from the Expo will benefit the Palmetto Youth Connection (PYC). PYC a Nonprofit 501(c) 3 gender base mentoring organization. LAWK (Ladies Armed With Knowledge) and MAWK (Men Armed With Knowledge) promote self esteem, education, leadership, and awareness through community outreach. MBNB strives to educate, empower, and explore not only healthy hair, but overall health and wellness lifestyle, all the while teaching to embrace natural and holistic lifestyles beyond our borders.

This event will host a week of free workshops that will include topics such as: Natural Hair products, proper hair maintenance, styling techniques, holistic alternatives for health and wellness, and proper lifestyle consultations. It is the first pageant of its kind. Over 1,000 people are expected to be in attendance at this year’s first annual pageant and workshops. Its first signed sponsors which includes Javis Tax Service, Coach Ward & Family, Makeup Eraser, CVS, Eden Body Works, Alikay Naturals, Mary Kay, Tracy Lynn Jewelry, Kings Beauty Supply, Body Canvas, and Delta Airlines and The City of Columbia, Pursely Yours.

Beginning June 2, the public will be able to purchase general admission tickets at $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The workshops and webinars are free to the community. However, sign-up prior to attendance is required via pageant website. Tickets are available for purchase at Eventbrite.
