Millstatt Am See, Austria, June 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The most historic hotel in Millstatt by the beautiful Millstatter See makes history once again celebrating its 130th founding anniversary and joining Europe's bandwagon of hospitality businesses embracing the latest in renewable power generation.

With the aim of supporting the global call to lessen the effects of global warming and climate change, Millstattersee Hotel See-Villa launches its reliable, environmentally superior energy alternative with its solar panels installation. Mounted on the hotel's rooftop to cover around 80% of the hotel's energy requirements, the this technology ensures semi-independence, environmentally friendly energy production and rational use of natural resources for planet conservation.

Several renovations are likewise done at the hotel to elevate luxury guest experience in line with the hotel's 130th founding anniversary.

The first summer hotel in Millstatt, Austria, Hotel See-Villa was founded by Rudolf Schürer von Waldheim who spearheaded the development of Carinthia as an exclusive summer destination for the nobilities and elites of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The luxury hotel was built in 1884 by renowned architects Mayreder and Kochlin, artificers of the Etablissement Ronacher in Vienna. Von Waldheim was later recognized as the father of Millstatt because of such significant contributions.

It was the first hotel built next to the majestic Lake Millstatt, Hotel-See Villa boasts not only of magnificent milestones and an elite list of nobilities and important personalities who graced its historic facilities, but also of a well-preserved traditions that stay faithful to its original intent. Currently managed by Count Anton Tacoli, the hotel has gone several renovations to restore its classic elegance and provide the new generation of travelers with modern luxuries and finest conveniences.
