In 2011, W Mobile Spa, LLC started Spa for Charity™ program, where they annually select a non-profit organization to support through fundraising, volunteering, spa services and product donations, and monetary support. This year’s recipient is BeatCancer.Org – Center for Advancement in Cancer Education, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to preventing cancer, reducing suffering from cancer and treatment side effects, and preventing disease recurrence. BeatCancer.org serves adults with cancer and children through education, coaching, counseling, resources and referrals.

“Every year we’ve not only accomplished our philanthropy goals, but we have continued to grow in our outreach involvement,” said Regina Jean-Baptiste, Owner. “With the partnership of the Hilton Wilmington/Christiana Hotel and DelawareBlack.com and an empowering seminar and entertainment, we anticipate this year being our most successful to date.”

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. According to the American Cancer Society, It has been estimated that as much as one-third of all cancer deaths in the US are related to diet and activity factors. Diet and exercise affect your risk for cancer much more than you might think. Research has shown that poor diet and not being active are two key factors that can increase a person’s cancer risk. The good news is that you can do something about this. This seminar will explore topics to help you prevent, cope with, and beat cancer through diet, lifestyle and other immune-boosting approaches.

Patty Harris, Sales Manager/Hilton Hotel, says, “It was a no brainer when I was asked to be a partner with W Mobile Spa on such a worthy cause. The battle for cancer is very near and dear to my heart. My father passed away from stomach cancer and my best friend is currently battling breast cancer. The strength and the courage for her to fight on and not give up is unbelievable. They are my hero’s, the life my father led will never be forgotten and I will continue to support Wendy and others through their cancer journey!”
