Raleigh, NC, July 11, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Anderson Jones, PLLC, a full-service law firm serving North Carolina, South Carolina and Washington, D.C., has announced that partner and attorney Victor “Andy” Anderson will be speaking at the North Carolina Association of Electrical Contractors (NCAEC) Convention on Saturday, July 12 at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Anderson will lead the program on “Collecting Bad Debt in North Carolina and South Carolina.” The session, which will run from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., will provide attendees with preventative measures and strategies to protect themselves and increase their chances of recovering bad debt.
Established in 1937 and grown into a force with more than 240 members, NCAEC works to unify the electrical industry through service, training and safety and aims to deliver a strong voice to the needs of electrical contractors – be they a one-man or a one hundred-man electrical company. The 2014 Convention accomplishes these goals by providing these professionals the opportunity to make connections, keep up with electrical code changes and legislative issues, and stay updated on new electrical material. The annual conference welcomes hundreds of top electrical contractors from across North and South Carolina.
As an attorney and partner with Anderson Jones, Anderson has extensive experience representing owners, municipalities, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in litigation and transactional matters, collections, lien and bond claims, construction disputes, administrative law, OSHA defense, contracts, licensing and related legal matters. He has 26 years of experience in law as well as 14 years of experience as a contractor and is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and Construction Law Sections. Additionally, Anderson is a certified Superior Court mediator, a notary public, and a former member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Construction and Administrative Law Council. He has given many seminars on construction matters as well as taught Continuing Legal Education classes for attorneys in construction law and OSHA defense.
“I am happy to have this opportunity to share related best practices and insight at the 2014 NCAEC Convention,” Anderson said. “As a former contractor myself, I know how helpful and valuable information on bad debt can be, so I am honored that I have the opportunity to address contractors throughout the Carolinas on these timely and important issues.”
