)-- Sol Sister Adventures is pleased to announce the launch of a new website and exciting new travel offerings for women only. The small group adventures on offer are designed by women, for women, and provide a combination of comfortable accommodations and outdoor immersion in a supportive setting. Adventures include several unique destinations that allow for a variety of activities such as kayaking, standup paddleboarding, sailing, hiking, yoga and more.
Sol Sister Adventures Founder, Carol Hansen states “Often, the women who travel with us have the time to get away, but not the travel companions. Their friends are busy with families or work. Or their husband doesn’t like to travel. Whatever the case, we have a lot of fun. And beyond that we help our guests leave each trip a little more enriched for the experience. We actively question what our guests want to get from their travel experience and do our best to facilitate that. That can mean a special empowerment meditation, an extra kayak lesson for a guest wanting to take home a new skill, or even just a drive back to the lodge to pick up someone that wanted to sleep in that day.”
New adventures for the 2014/2015 season include a Florida Keys “top-to-bottom” adventure, Florida river kayaking with manatees, Virgin Island kayaking, Dominica eco-resort adventure and schooner sailing in Maine. Each adventure brings its own combination of activities and highlights—from hoisting sails to beach bonfires to full moon meditations.
“We offer yoga on most of our trips, but we don’t do full yoga retreats,” adds Hansen. “Our objective is to enhance our trips with gentle yoga and meditation that can help our guests disconnect from the day-to-day that they left behind. We want them to have their best experience and part of that is being able to live in the moment. To just be aware of the wonders around them.”
Sol Sister Adventures vary in length from four to seven days, and are led by experienced guides that organize the group, provide local area knowledge and help ensure a safe and supportive travel environment. Groups are small, with just 8-12 participants allowing for a more personalized experience. Trips can be booked online or via phone. Visit www.solsisteradventures.com for more information.
