Lucideon Achieves Extension to ISO 14001 UKAS Accreditation

Lucideon, the management systems certification and sustainability assurance provider, is pleased to announce that it has been granted by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) an extension to its ISO 14001 accreditation to now include EA codes 32 & 34.

Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom, July 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for environmental management. The standard provides a framework and guidance on the management of the environmental aspects and risk of your businesses activities, allowing you to work to continually improve your processes to both reduce environmental impact and increase profitability.

EA 32 & EA 34 covers the activities of Estates and Facilities Management and Engineering services, typically maintenance of properties including Public and Private sectors such as universities and hospitals.

Having UKAS-accredited certification means that the Environmental Management System (EMS) is not only valid but that it can also be maintained and monitored effectively, leading to continuous improvement.

Tim Watts, Operations Manager, Assurance, at Lucideon, says, “We can now provide clients who carry out these activities with an accredited certification, which brings all the advantages of certification, provided by an accredited certification body.

“Companies who achieve ISO 14001 and comply with UKAS standards can use the Lucideon UKAS assurance mark to help boost the publicity of their sustainable practices.

“The certification of your Environmental Management System will go a long way in supporting an Energy Management System (ISO 50001), which in many cases will be a path way to ESOS compliance (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme), the recently announced compulsory scheme for many.”
