Des Moines Area Self Defense Plans Just Yell Fire Class to Promote Self Defense and  Educate Teens

West Des Moines, IA, August 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Des Moines Area Self Defense has announced plans to hold a Just Yell Fire class on September 9, 2014 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.with the intent of promoting self­ defense techniques and educating teens on safety and violence prevention. Space for the class has been generously provided by McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel at 801 19th St. in West Des Moines.

The class will address issues such as safety, deterring violence, dating violence and date rape, self defense techniques, among other topics.

The premise for Just Yell fire was created by Dallas Jessup when she was fourteen years old. Jessup was spurred to found the Just Yell Fire nonprofit organization to combat violence against women when she learned of a news story where a young woman was murdered after going willingly with her attacker.

The Just Yell fire class advises on “The Dating Bill of Rights,” informs on statistics and allows participants the opportunity to learn self defense mechanisms and instruction on street fighting moves that can be easily implemented in a variety of threatening situations.
