Flint, MI, August 17, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Mobile Safety Accessories, a Michigan company, has introduced a OEM looking back-up camera enabled rear view mirror with a 1080p drive camera built into the unit.
The Witness 1080p DVR mirror works with the Ambarella A7 image processing chip, the same chip used by popular action camera companies.
The Mirror itself looks like a factory original mirror from the from the front, but on the back of the housing there is a pose-able camera lens used to record driving activity. While the drive recording function has applications for fleet use, as well as for people who like to share their driving experiences, The Witness also adds valuable security and safety features that Mobile Safety Accessories believes are unique.
According to Dave Forrest Co-Owner of M.S.A. "The Witness mirror will feature a number of additional features that will make it unique in the category. Aside from giving drivers or fleets who want to record their driving activity a high quality, discreetly mounted, drive camera that is always connected to the vehicle, with no exposed or hanging wires,or suction cups."
"We have engineered this camera system so that it will continue to operate for up to 48 hours after a driver has turned off their vehicle. This allows the camera to enter sleep mode, and during the 48 hour time period the camera camera can be activated by motion or shock. So if someone runs into your vehicle in a parking lot, or even walks in front of your can, The Witness will record the event."
The Witness rear view mirror camera also features: Full HD recording from the front camera; Ultra high brightness LCD monitor; Automatic rear camera display with adjustable parking lines; Automatic brightness adjustment; Seamless cyclic recording to SD card.
