)-- Proof Fitness is hosting a Rally for the Cure® Zumba Master Class on Saturday, August 30, 2014. Rally for the Cure is a grass roots program that works to educate women about breast cancer and remind them to get their annual screening through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events. More than 2 million people have participated in Rally events across the nation since its inception in 1996. This year marks the first year Proof Fitness has rallied against breast cancer, as they just opened their doors 9 months ago.
Proof Fitness invites the public to take part in this Rally event. Membership is not necessary. The day’s activities will include a 90 minute Zumba Master Class from 1:00-2:30pm and informational vendor booths with raffle items. Advance registration is recommended and can be done at the front desk at Proof Fitness. Prizes will be awarded to the raffle winners at the event and each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information and other Rally items plus a subscription to a select Condé Nast magazine such as SELF, Golf Digest and Bon Appétit.
“We are proud to open our facility and host a Rally for the Cure event. The event is a fun way for us to bring together our members and the community to support an important cause while being physically active with a Zumba event that people are passionate about,” states Melissa Skaggs, Marketing/Group Fitness Manager at Proof Fitness.
Since its start in 1996, the Rally program has touched over 2 million people with the important message that early detection and effective treatment saves lives. In addition to mobilizing people behind breast cancer awareness, Rally events have generated over $75 million for Susan G. KomenTM.
”The success of Rally is attributed to volunteer ambassadors like the ownership and management at Proof Fitness, who have said ‘Yes, we can have a Rally at our club’. It is their enthusiasm, energy and support we value in our commitment to support Susan G. Komen,” says Diane Perillo, Program Manager, Rally for the Cure.
Since 1996 Komen has received over $75 million from fundraising activities at Rally events to help fund life-saving breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs. Rally for the Cure® is run by Condé Nast and is based in Wilton, Connecticut. For further information about Proof Fitness’ Rally event, contact Melissa Skaggs at (859)559-0222.
