CREW Charlotte Encourages Charlotte to Go Pink

Queen City in Pink Campaign Shows Support for Fight Against Breast Cancer.

Charlotte, NC, September 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Charlotte will be hosting its 6th Annual Queen City in Pink (QCIP) campaign, which encourages local businesses to turn their buildings and surroundings pink, September 27 - October 5. These efforts are designed to show support for the community’s survivors of breast cancer and honor those who have been affected by or lost their lives to the disease. In partnership with Susan G. Komen ® Charlotte, CREW Charlotte conducts the campaign in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Foundation’s® Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

CREW Charlotte’s QCIP initiative asks the owners and tenants of Charlotte properties to illuminate their buildings with pink lighting, temporarily turn fountains pink with dye or lighting, or decorate with other displays of pink including ribbons, banners and flags.

CREW member and breast cancer survivor, Amanda Hibberts, says “It’s critical that organizations like CREW Charlotte provide survivors and women battling the disease this type of recognition and support. Just the positivity, both mental and spiritual, is greater than could ever come in any bottle of medication.”

“It’s important to our organization to add even a glimmer of hope or ounce of support to those impacted by this disease,” says Bobbi Jo Lazarus, CREW Charlotte president. “CREW Charlotte is all about supporting each other in our professional and personal lives, and we hope our local community will join us in this support effort again this year.”

There are multiple ways businesses can participate. For more information on how your business can help support Queen City in Pink, please visit http://www.crewcharlotte.org/events/queen-city-in-pink.
