Alberta Based Partners Connect Kids with Computers

The Electronic Recycling Association and Alberta’s Promise focus on underprivileged Lethbridge youth.

Calgary, Canada, October 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Bojan Paduh, Founder and President of the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), announced today that the ERA has executed on a joint initiative with Alberta’s Promise to provide several Lethbridge-based organizations with computers for the kids in their programs. This donation marks the beginning of an Alberta-wide initiative focusing on underprivileged youth.

“We are honored to work with Alberta’s Promise on this initiative,” said Paduh. “I am excited for the youth in our communities to benefit from our partnership with Alberta’s Promise, they are a remarkable organization and have helped us extend our reach to groups we haven’t yet worked with,” he added. Over the next several months, the ERA plans to provide Alberta’s Promise with a number of substantial technology donations for them to distribute to other youth-focused organizations.

Donated computers will be used by non-profit partners like the Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge, the Lethbridge Detachment Victim Assistance Society, and the Opokaa’sin Early Intervention Society to administer programs and services, to deliver homework help, and to teach computer basics. The donations ultimately help these non-profit organizations direct more of their funding to front-line program delivery.

“Promise Partners like ERA are the possibility makers that help support the well-being of children and youth in Alberta,” says Judy Eng-Hum, Executive Director for Alberta’s Promise. “Together, we strive to enhance the community resources available to our youngest Albertans so they may have the opportunities to succeed.”
