The Battlegrounds Holds Food Drive for Operation Food Search

Mud runners donate more than 650 pounds of food.

St. Louis, MO, October 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Battlegrounds at Cedar Lake, the Midwest’s only permanent mud run obstacle course, recently held its fifth bi-annual race and collected more than 658 pounds of food for Operation Food Search. The donation represents enough food to feed 183 people for one day.

The canned food was sent to Agape Ministry of Warren County, which feeds approximately 1,000 Warren County residents each month at its food pantries located in Warrenton and Wright City.

“We’re proud of our mud runner community and their efforts,” said The Battlegrounds’ owner Carl Bolm. “In addition to having a successful event, our audience participated in reducing the hunger issues that our area suffers from.”

Operation Food Search was established in 1981 to address the growing problem of hunger in the St. Louis area. As the largest distributor of free food in the bi-state area, the organization distributes 2.75 million pounds of food and household essentials to nearly 300 community partner agencies.

The Battlegrounds is located at 950 State Highway 00 in Wright City, Mo. next to Cedar Lake Cellars winery and event venue. For more information, call (314) 569-3005.
