Safeguard Self Storage Completes the Purchase of Another Piece of Land for a New Facility on 1909 West 95th Street in Chicago, Illinois

Safeguard Self Storage has purchased land for the company's 14th storage facility in the Chicago area. This new facility will feature 790 storage units of various sizes and options. Safeguard continues to grow in the Chicago area to serve the needs of this densely populated city.

Chicago, IL, October 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Safeguard Self Storage has announced the purchase, on October 15, 2014, of a land parcel to build a self-storage facility on West 95th Street in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago. The store will be the 74th store for the company nationally when completed and the 14th store in the Chicago area. Three other developments, which will be the company’s 11th, 12th and 13th stores in Chicago, are either under construction or about to start demolition prior to construction.

“The Chicago area is an important market for Safeguard and will build on the company’s efforts to increase its critical mass in this city,” says Mark B Rinder, Safeguard’s Chief Financial Officer. “We have focused on Chicago as an important next step for the company as it continues to grow.”

The 58,000 square-foot facility will provide 790 storage units in various sizes. Amenities at this location will include heating/air conditioning, drive-up loading area, computer-controlled building access and digital/video recording of the property. As with our other recent developments in Chicago, the facade of the store has been modified and upgraded to blend into the surrounding neighborhood.

“This store, similar to all our Chicago facilities, will fill a real need in this dense urban area of the city where there are few other options for storage,” said Ken Finlay, Safeguard Senior Vice-President of Operations.
