Local User Experience Chapter Hosts 10th Annual World Usability Day at Cleveland Museum of Art

The Cleveland Chapter of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) hosts day of User Experience education and training.

Cleveland, OH, November 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Time has proven that the most successful products, services and technologies are often the most engaging. Companies are striving more than ever to provide an engaging experience to their customers at every interaction. How can user experience professionals help in this arena? This year World Usability Day is about exploring the idea of engagement and what user experience professionals can bring to the table.

Join the Cleveland Chapter of User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA CLE) as they explore Engagement in Usability at World Usability Day 2014. On November 13, 2014, UXPA CLE will host World Usability Day at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The event will include a full day of informative sessions, networking, user experience vendor booths, food, and fun. World Usability Day is celebrated in more than 40 countries around the world. This is the tenth year that UXPA CLE has hosted a World Usability Day event.

Speakers include Michal Levin, who since joining Google in 2009 has been responsible for the UX design of global products in the areas of Enterprise, Analytics, Search, Data visualization and more. Also speaking is award winning researcher, designer and strategist in the field of interactive children’s media, Debra Gelman. Gelman led the research and design of Planet Orange—a site designed to teach 1st through 6th graders financial literacy—which won a USA Today Education "Best Bet" award. Also joining the line-up is local speaker Josh Walsh, current CEO of D-I in Cleveland, Ohio, an experience designer, interaction designer, self-proclaimed design raconteur and angel investor.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear about the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gallery One from Chief Information Office, Jane Alexander. Gallery One is a unique, interactive gallery that blends art, technology and interpretation to inspire visitors to explore the museum’s renowned collections. This revolutionary space features the largest multi-touch screen in the United States, which displays images of over 4,100 objects from the museum’s world-renowned permanent collection.

To conclude the afternoon, Brian Buirge and Jason Bachers, of GoodF*ckingDesignAdvice.com (GFDA), are scheduled to lead a profanity laced session that is sure to be the supreme example of engagement. GFDA shares with the world pithy maxims aimed at sharing advice to designers and the business minded alike in humorous and obscene one-liners through their blog.
