Broward Meals on Wheels Celebrates 30th Anniversary, Raises More Than $12,000 at Destination Soiree
Plantation, FL, November 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- More than 100 members of the South Florida community attended Broward Meals on Wheels’ 30th anniversary celebration on November 6, 2014. Celebrating 30 years of fighting senior hunger in the community, BMOW hosted the trendy event from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at their headquarters in Plantation, located at 451 N. State Road 7.
Destination, a travel-themed soiree, featured tours of its new facility; succulent spirits by Passion XO beverages, culinary delights from local restaurants, incredible artwork, silent auction, entertainment by DJ Rudy Guevara and more. All proceeds/sponsorships, totaling $12,500, will benefit Broward Meals on Wheels, which improves health, reduces isolation and promotes independent living for seniors in the community.
Broward Meals on Wheels is part of a national network, The Meals on Wheels Association of America, the only national organization and network dedicated solely to ending senior hunger in America. The Association is the oldest and largest organization composed of and representing local, community-based Senior Nutrition Programs in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our 30th anniversary with our community partners, supporters and donors,” said Mark Adler, executive director of Broward Meals on Wheels. “Through our comprehensive menu of programs and services, Broward Meals on Wheels is able to provide healthy meals to nearly 10,000 seniors each year.”
