IJIS Institute Welcomes Amazon Web Services as Sustaining Member; A Leader in Cloud Computing is the Latest to Join Prestigious Member Class

Ashburn, VA, October 01, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The IJIS Institute - a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing and safeguarding for justice, public safety, and homeland security - announces that Amazon Web Services (AWS) has joined the Institute as a Sustaining Member.

An IJIS Institute Sustaining Membership provides a visible and meaningful avenue for companies to provide leadership and expertise to the IJIS Institute in its mission to advance national information sharing and safeguarding initiatives. In addition, Sustaining Members provide increased financial support to the IJIS programs and special projects and strengthen the Institute’s long term financial viability.

“AWS is dedicated to supporting law enforcement and public safety agencies with cloud services that help accomplish their mission more effectively,” said Max Peterson, General Manager of Partners, Capture and Contracts, of Worldwide Public Sector at Amazon Web Services, Inc. “We’re looking forward to taking advantage of the opportunity IJIS provides to collaborate on programs that protect our nation's communities by bringing the power of the cloud to our first responders.”

Steve Ambrosini, executive director of the IJIS Institute, stated, “I am especially pleased to welcome AWS as a Sustaining Member and look forward to their involvement in Institute programs. Their experience with government agencies and their unique understanding of the technology issues will be a valued addition to our member community.”

AWS offers a broad set of global compute, storage, database, analytics, application, and deployment services that help organizations move faster, lower IT costs, and scale applications.
