Pricol Participated in the Coimbatore Marathon 2015

Coimbatore, India, October 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Pricol, Coimbatore based auto components manufacturing company, participated in the Coimbatore Marathon 2015. The Coimbatore Cancer Foundation conducted a mega marathon for the third consecutive year to spread awareness about cancer. The event was held on 4th October, 2015 at Coimbatore. More than 10,000 people participated in this prominent event. Employees from different corporates took part in this marathon. The Coimbatore Marathon is recognised by the Tamil Nadu Athletic Association and the Coimbatore District Athletic Association.

This marathon had three sections, namely, 21.1 km (half marathon), 10 km run and 5 km run/walk. The 10 km run had more than 3,000 runners, 5 km run had around 6,400 runners and a few in the 21.1 km run. Winners of first, second and third place for both men and women in all segments rewarded with prizes. The total prize money amounted to more than Rs. 2.6 lakhs. The prize money for the half marathon (21.1 km run) was Rs. 25,000, Rs.15,000 and Rs.10,000 respectively for the first, second and third place holders. The top three place holders in the 10 km category received prize money of Rs. 15,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively. In the veteran’s category, the prize money for the top three finishers in the Half Marathon was Rs. 15,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively. In the veteran’s category, the prize money for the top three finishers in the 10 km run was Rs.10,000, Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 5.000 respectively.
