Four Course Vegan Truffle Dinner Comes to Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY, March 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Meatless Monday is moving to Wednesday in Greenpoint next week, so that the star ingredient can be at its freshest. Chef Timothy Pakron will present Gusto Del Tartufo highlighting what he calls “one of the most exquisite foods available to humans”: the truffle.

Patrons at Toby Buggiani’s Italian restaurant, Adelina’s, will be able to enjoy Pakron’s four-course, meatless dinner where the entree will feature hot pasta, organic plant-based butter, and freshly shaved truffles. (A gluten-free option will also be available.)

Pakron is known as the Mississippi Vegan, having grown up in Gulfport. His Southern roots deepened as he attended schools in Georgia and South Carolina. He said his culinary creations reflect his respect for the seasons with an emphasis on Cajun and Creole cuisine. When not practicing his craft as a chef, he devotes his time to food photography and foraging for wild edibles.

Gusto del Tartufo is presented under the auspices of U.S. Veg Corp, a five-year-old company which is best known for its staging of the annual New York City Vegetarian Food Festival. The company also sponsors Vegan Drinks Brooklyn and various vegan cooking competitions around the city.

For the truffles dinner, there will be two limited seatings: at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $79 per person and may be purchased here: http://www.mississippivegan.com/gustodeltartufo/tickets.
