An IDA Scholarship Recipient Has Ties to Precision Overhead Garage Door Service Columbia

Columbia, SC, October 15, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Doug Kale, owner of Precision Overhead Garage Door Service Columbia, is a proud father. His daughter, Sydney Kale, is one of twenty-nine IDA (International Door Association) scholarship recipients. Sydney was chosen by the IDA Scholarship Foundation Selection Committee to receive a $2000 scholarship for fall 2016.

On track to be a 2016 high school graduate, Sydney graduated a semester early from Blythewood High School in Blythewood, SC. Not one to watch time pass her by, she spent the first half of 2016 working in an orphanage in Cusco, Peru. This fall Sydney is a pre-med student at Wofford University.

Doug proudly states, "The IDA gives out a limited number of scholarships each year across North America to its members and employees of members. I couldn’t be happier or more proud that Sydney was selected this year.”

The IDA’s Scholarship Program Administrator Peggy Sanders explains, “The quality of the applicants was excellent. It was difficult for our selection committee to decide. All of the members of the selection committee were drawn from outside the Door and Access Systems Industry. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply again next year.”

Congratulations to each of the IDA 2016 Scholarship Recipients.

About The IDA Scholarship Foundation
On June 22, 2000, the IDA Board of directors authorized the development of a Scholarship program to be administered by the association’s Education and Meetings Committee. The first IDA Scholarship awards were given in the Fall of 2001, and the actual Foundation was established in October 2002.

Scholarships are awarded per criteria per region per type of scholarship. Twelve regions are each offered a Primary Scholarship and a Secondary Scholarship for Dealer sponsored applicants; one Primary Scholarship for an Industry sponsored applicant is also offered. These awards are given once per year, but a scholarship recipient may reapply each year and receive up to four scholarships. www.IDAscholarship.org
