Cedar Lake Cellars Breaks Ground on New Event Space

New multi-purpose building to be completed by March, 2017.

St. Louis, MO, November 25, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Cedar Lake Cellars recently began construction on its new premium event and dining space to be called The Barrel Room. The 7,500-square-foot multi-purpose building, which will cost $500,000 to construct, more than doubles the amount of event space at the winery located at 11008 Schreckengast Rd. in Wright City, Mo. The building will be completed by March, 2017 and is currently accepting reservations for weddings, receptions, corporate and private events beginning April, 2017.

The Barrel Room will offer covered seating for more than 300 guests. Two sides of the building that face the winery’s three-acre lake will have retractable walls, which will have the flexibility of opening and closing depending upon the weather. The full bar area will be temperature controlled for year-round use. The Barrel Room will feature a large stage for musical and entertainment performances, a dance floor, marketplace, and panoramic views of the winery’s more than 170 acres of land.

In addition to The Barrel Room, Cedar Lake Cellars is making a variety of winery renovations including doubling its restrooms to 20 stalls and adding a $50,000 commercial smoker. In order to accommodate the new building addition, Cedar Lake Cellars will increase its kitchen area to an 18’ X 20’ space designated as an all-inclusive grill area. More offices will be added, and two new hog pits will roast antibiotic-free hogs for everything from wedding receptions to Sunday brunches. An expanded parking lot will now have 2,500 car spaces, and more trash management and recycling areas will be added to assist with the winery’s growth. Five full-time employees will be hired. All renovations will be completed by March, 2017.

“The Barrel Room will be a welcome addition to our winery, which has grown tremendously since it began in 2010,” said Cedar Lake Cellars owner Carl Bolm. “We currently have our Big Red Barn and Little Red Barn for parties, but this new space allows us to target larger weddings and corporate events.”

Cedar Lake Cellars is open year-round Fri. through Sun. from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for those 21 and older with live music scheduled throughout the weekend. The restaurant seats 90 indoor and 120 patio diners with a wine bar that features 15 Cedar Lake Cellars wines, 3 Swans handcrafted wines from the West Coast, 25 wines of the world, craft and domestic beers, and signature wine slushies.
