Jason Tanamor Resigns as Editor of Zoiks! Online

Jason Tanamor, Editor of Zoiks! Online, retires from post.

Rock Island, IL, December 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Jason Tanamor is retiring from his post as long-time Editor of the music and stand-up comedy website, Zoiks! Online. The move does not come as any surprise as Tanamor has recently been focusing on his fiction writing, having released two novels and one children's book in the last couple years. "Novel writing is what I've wanted to do since I was a kid," Tanamor said. "It just so happened I fell into journalism, primarily focusing on music and comedy."

Since heading the website, Tanamor has interviewed some of the biggest names in music and comedy, a list that includes Dane Cook, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Heart, and Gabriel Iglesias. "I've managed to chat up a string of people that I'd never imagined. Some bigger names and some yet to be discovered," Tanamor said. "Now, I'm ready to move on to the next phase of my writing."

Zoiks! Online, however, will continue through its Managing Editor, Bob Zerull, who has been with Tanamor since 2007. "Bob has grown into his own and has proven that he can contribute excellent content on a regular basis," Tanamor said. "Writing content, reviewing albums and concerts, and doing interviews are something that I haven't enjoyed doing in the past few years. It was just something that felt like work instead of fun. That's when I knew my time was up."

Tanamor started the website in 2004 and has interviewed more than 1,000 personalities, some who are still in the business and others who have disappeared from the spotlight. "It's nice to see some of the smaller names evolve and grow into superstars, like Amy Schumer, who I interviewed in 2010 when she was a contestant on 'Last Comic Standing,'" Tanamor said. "I've also talked to celebrities who were more of a novelty act such as William Hung."

As for those big names that have eluded him, Tanamor has no regrets. "There are still a couple people that I'd love to talk to like Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, and Steve Martin," Tanamor said. "However, it just wasn't meant to be."

Zoiks! Online has maintained a steady presence online and has moved into the world of podcasting, a format that Tanamor's Managing Editor is passionate about. "Bob's really into that medium. He's spent a lot of hours and money investing in that format, perfecting his craft," Tanamor said. "I'm excited to see where he takes the website."

Tanamor's official last day with the site is December 31, 2016. He will then concentrate on his novel writing.
