Retrospective Held by FinTech Thought Leaders

Pune, India, January 19, 2017 --(PR.com)-- FinTech Thought Leaders (www.fintechthoughtleaders.com) held a retrospective of the Agile Fest event in Pune on 14th Jan 2017. Volunteers who had helped organize this event came together to look back at how the event went last year. The half day event was split into 2 parts:

1. Looking back - Retrospective of Agile Fest 2016
2. Looking forward – Prospective for the community in 2017

The day started early with the volunteers starting to arrive at the Refresh hall in Westin. Brijesh set the ball rolling by explaining the agenda for the day and setting the context for why the session was organized. Fintech Thought Leaders is a community initiative and it’s important for the members of this community to meet regularly to not only retrospect about past events but also to take the opportunity to discuss future plans.

The retrospective asked 3 questions about Agile Fest 2016
· What went well?
· What could be improved on?
· What more can we do?

The retrospective is an important mechanism that will allow the community to evolve and improve for the next events. It is important that everyone, including the core team members and the volunteers get an opportunity to air their opinions in an open, honest, yet constructive atmosphere.

FinTech Thought Leaders is a community focussed on increasing the collaboration between practitioners working in the Financial Services domain. This community will organize events allowing top performers who are practitioners to come and speak about their work. The focus of this community will be on practitioners and executioners i.e. people who cut code or finance professionals. The community will also strive to build a connect between industry and academia, so that the syllabus taught is more closely aligned to what we need on the ground in the industry.

On Saturday 26th Nov. 2016, some formidable captains from the FinTech space assembled at Westin for the Agile Fest 2016 event organized by FinTech Thought Leaders – a day long event. This was the first event which brought industry leaders from established banks, start ups and academia across the business, technology and management space in Pune on a single platform.

The event was inaugurated by the Mayor of Pune, Honorable Mr. Prashant Jagtap, The IB Head for Barclays India, Mr. Manoj Kulkarni, the Group Head of Payments Transaction Services, Operations and Technology at MasterCard India, Mr. Ramesh Mirakhur; Mr. Marcus Hough head of Compliance Technology in Barclays India, Mr. Ajay Vishampayan, Director of Software Engineering at ACI a product company, Aniruddha Paranjape Co-Founder of startup – Kanaka, Mr. Tanveer Patel, serial entrepreneur and founder of startup BlueBenz Digitizations and Mr. Atul Patil, Co-Founder of FinTech Thought Leaders, amongst other guests representing a broad spectrum of leadership across the FinTech space. The event was packed with over 200 participants from over 30 organizations based in Pune and Mumbai.

This was a retrospective on how the event was organized and how they can improve.

The team also did a fun exercise of ranking some of the key elements of the event on a scale of 1 (Poor) to 5 (Excellent). This was done by using visual tools. Team members were asked to place sticky notes on the scale for each attribute on a white board. Once all the team members had voted on their rankings, the white board clearly brought out areas where the event went very well and also visually brought out areas which did not do so well. Areas like the compering and hosting of the event, the venue and the key note speech by Manoj Kulkarni stood out with their high scores.

The second part of the session focussed on the plans for the community in 2017.

The activities planned by the community for this year include the below:
