Avasant Foundation’s Golf for Impact Unites Technology Industry Leaders in Support of Youth Empowerment

Last week, Avasant Foundation’s fourth annual Golf for Impact fundraiser raised over $200,000 toward Youth Empowerment development programs in emerging countries.

Los Angeles, CA, March 17, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Last week, Avasant Foundation’s fourth annual Golf for Impact fundraiser raised over $200,000 toward Youth Empowerment development programs in emerging countries.

The Foundation hosted executives from 20 leading technology firms at one of Southern California’s premier golf venues, Mountain Gate Country Club. The scramble tournament was followed by a cocktail and dinner reception where attendees learned more about the Foundation and its growing platform.

At the reception, Chitra Rajeshwari, Executive Director of the Avasant Foundation, noted, “The foundation is committed to creating opportunities for deserving youth who come from some of the most underdeveloped regions in the world. We do this by providing education programs that develop students’ entrepreneurial and technical skills and partnering with local technology providers to give our students access to sustainable career paths.” She added, “We are extremely grateful to our generous sponsors for their support towards these programs.”

Kevin Parikh, Chairman of the Avasant Foundation and Global CEO of Avasant noted, “Today’s youth face new uncertainties as they navigate new pathways for career advancement. Using our knowledge and resources, we are determined to foster integrity, inclusion and opportunity to prepare these deserving youth for success in the ever-changing digital economies of today and tomorrow.”

The Foundation prides itself on transparency, sharing with each sponsor the quantitative impact their donation has on the lives of youth in these emerging countries. Funds are allocated directly to programs in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the United States.

Rajeshwari closed the event with a video that told the story of Khristen Forbes, a young woman who recently graduated from Avasant’s Digital Youth Employment Initiative. Forbes, as a result of the training program and her own hard work, graduated with the “Top Performer” award. Today, she is employed by HGS as a contact center agent for a leading healthcare company. The video ended with an inspiring message from Khristen: “To Avasant foundation, thank you for this opportunity. To all the unemployed youth, have faith as your lives will be filled with blessings and miracles.”
