Mary’s Center to Host Grand Opening of New Behavioral Health Center

The New Building Will Increase Access to Behavioral Health Services in the District of Columbia

Washington, DC, November 08, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Mary’s Center announced the Grand Opening of its new Behavioral Health Center in Adams Morgan, to take place on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

The new Center, co-located with Mary’s Center’s headquarters, will increase access to much-needed behavioral health services in the District of Columbia.

Lack of treatment for serious mental illness costs the country billions of dollars in lost productivity. In Washington, DC, behavioral health is one of the top health challenges affecting the population. With the expansion of its behavioral health services, Mary’s Center seeks to increase access to counseling, therapy and psychiatric services and to reduce the stigma of seeking help for behavioral health needs.

In addition to the Grand Opening ceremony, Mary’s Center will also host a health fair for veterans – one of the at-risk populations for behavioral health illnesses – sponsored by Centene Corporation and Nam Knights. Free health screenings including vision screenings (from 8 am to 1:30 pm), depression and opioid and heroin abuse screenings (from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm), free prescription glasses, and free fresh farmer’s market produce will be offered.
