FairPoint has received the approval of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont Public Utilities Commissions to complete its acquisition of the entire landline communications network of Verizon Communications in those three states.
FairPoint Communications, Inc. (FRP on the New York Stock Exchange), a communications service provider to both rural and urban communities across the country, has been meeting regularly with FISC’s project team since September to lay the foundation for their transition to FISC services.
With the approval of the sale, FISC expects to add approximately 10 new jobs to its remittance processing department. In addition, the deal between FairPoint and FISC will directly impact and influence the economic growth of the Lewiston/Auburn area and surrounding communities.
