NAMWOLF Looks Forward to Working with New Governor of New York on Opportunities for Supplier Diversity Issues at State Agencies and Commissions

NAMWOLF is optimistic that New York Governor David Paterson will enhance opportunities for minority and women owned businesses.

New York, NY, April 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) would like to congratulate David Paterson on being sworn in on March 17, 2008 as the Governor of New York.

“NAMWOLF is eagerly looking forward to working with Governor Paterson in the future. It is encouraging to know Governor Paterson shares our passion for increasing contracting opportunities for minority and women owned businesses. Our research shows there is a lack of MBE/WBE participation in virtually all State of New York agencies and authorities,” said Yolanda Coly, Managing Director for NAMWOLF.

In October of 2007 NAMWOLF announced its astounding research findings regarding the lack of utilization of minority and women owned law firms by several New York State Authorities, which included: New York State Thruway Authority, Port Authority of NY and NJ, and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. “We can only hope that Governor Paterson will bring about a needed change,” said Yolanda Coly.

NAMWOLF will be holding its fourth Annual Meeting in Dallas, Texas on November 13 and 14, 2008. For more information please call 414-277-1139.
