Giant Speed Dating Event to Hit the Central Coast

San Luis Obispo, CA, April 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Central Coast Singles presents what may be the biggest speed dating event ever seen on the Central Coast. It will be held at the Grange Hall in San Luis Obispo on May 10, starting at 6:00 pm, followed by dancing with DJ Avery. The goal is to bring together as many singles as possible to meet, make contact, and maximize their dating experience.

"What makes this unique," said Gerald Craig, event organizer and Director of Central Coast Singles, "is that participants will be set in the age group they feel most comfortable with. This isn't just a 'one day one age' event. If, for instance, a 45 year old woman is looking for younger men for activities such as hiking and biking, she may want to mix with a group that is younger than her age. It's all about being comfortable."

By setting up all ages on the same night, Craig feels there will be greater interest in participation. "Usually, you have a call for whatever age group happens to have the most reservations. A service may move the numbers one way or another to make the most money they can. We don't do that, because everyone is welcome on the same night." Participants will be broken into four age groups when the event begins, rather than being made to sit with people outside their comfortable age range.

Participants will take turns interviewing people of the opposite gender throughout the event. They will have up to 7 minutes with each one, and participants will rotate from table to table. They will be able to rate the person they just interviewed, and indicate whether they wish to be contacted by them in the future. "It's not just a yes or no night. It is about creating opportunity, making a connection."

Craig has been director of the Central Coast Singles for 3 years, and has seen it grow to hundreds of potential matches. "Aside from coverage online and media, notice will go out to about 600 singles on the Central Coast, as well as notifying other singles groups with potential for hundreds more. I expect to have a big turnout and make a lot of matches that night."

This will also be unique because people will be allowed in for free to watch and mingle. Cost will be just $30 for those who wish to actually participate in the event, including appetizers, a drink, and the dance afterward. Others will be able to join the dance at a cost of $5 each. Video of the event will be made available at additional charge, and may even be featured on a local television show.
