  1. America’s leading cable and DSL providers added a combined 6.4 million high-speed Internet subscribers during 2002, according to new data from Leichtman Research Group.

    At the end of 2002, the leading providers had accumulated a total of over 17.4 million high-speed Internet subscribers in the US.

    Leichtman Research Group forecasts that the total number of broadband cable and DSL Internet subscribers in the US will surpass the number of narrowband (standard phone line) subscribers in 2005 and will grow to nearly 49 million by the end of 2007.
