Fuerza Local Arizona and Interise Launch Initiative for Latino Businesses to Close the Latino Entrepreneurship Gap

Fuerza Local, a program of Local First Arizona Foundation, and Interise, a national economic development nonprofit, announced the launch of a pilot program, called Accelerate Latinx, powered by Interise and Fuerza Local, known locally as Nivel Ejecutivo, (Translation: Next Level Executive). Local First Arizona Launches Community Banking Month: Annual Campaign Encourages Arizonans to Move Their Money Where It Matters

Where you bank can make a huge impact on the local economy, according to Kimber Lanning, founder of Local First Arizona, the organization in Arizona dedicated to boost locally owned business. Lanning is promoting April as Community Banking Month statewide as a time for everyone in Arizona to meet with a banker from a community bank or credit union near them and move their funds into a local institution that better understands their needs than a national bank that only sees Arizona as an outpost. - April 01, 2019

Local First Arizona Foundation Receives Funding from The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation to Train Latino Small Business Owners

Local First Arizona Foundation received a $25,000 grant from The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation. The funding will underwrite the cost of 12 micro-entrepreneurs to enroll in one of Local First’s programs, the Fuerza Local Business Accelerator, a six-month program focused on business classes taught in Spanish for business owners to launch successful businesses in Arizona. Since 2016, the 304 Fuerza Local graduates have generated more than $14 million in new gross sales and created 536 new jobs. - March 27, 2019
