Leslie T. Krasny (Keller and Heckman LLP), Legal Expert on Food Law to Speak at Global Knowledge Congress' Upcoming FDA Regulations in Food Labeling Teleconference

Krasny, a Partner at leading international law firm Keller & Heckman LLP, will speak at the upcoming FDA Regulations in Food Label teleconference scheduled tentatively for May 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM EST.

Krasny, a Partner at top international law firm Keller & Heckman LLP, will speak at the upcoming FDA Regulations in Food Label teleconference scheduled tentatively for May 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM EST.

Recently, the FDA has changed many of the rules governing how food is labeled for consumer products. Changes include: listing the amount of trans fat, notification of eight allergen groups, and a new definition of "whole grain". The Global Knowledge Congress has assembled a team of experts to help analyze these changes and their impact on the companies servicing this industry. These experts will present their findings, which include a "best practice" panel at a comprehensive two-hour teleconference scheduled for May 2006.

About Leslie T. Krasny 

"Leslie T. Krasny is a partner at the law firm of Keller and Heckman LLP, and manages the San Francisco office. She specializes in food law, with emphasis on food safety, labeling, and ingredient evaluations for conventional foods and dietary supplements, inspections and recalls, biotechnology, organics, advertising, California's Proposition 65, and international trade. She was Vice President and General Counsel of Dole Packaged Foods Company before entering private practice in food law. 

Ms. Krasny is a frequent speaker on food law issues, is a member of the Northern California Partnership. Among Industry and Regulators, served on the California Food Biotechnology Advisory Committee, and writes a regulatory column for Wellness Foods magazine. She wrote a chapter on labeling in the Humana Press book “Beverages in Nutrition and Health.”
She and colleagues at Keller and Heckman teach two food law courses annually -- "Practical Food Law: The Essentials" and "Practical Food Law: Labeling, Advertising and Promotion. " Ms. Krasny is a member of the California Bar."
