)-- StraighterLine (www.straighterline.com), a new online education solution that provides students a high quality, better supported, and lower cost way to obtain college credits through regionally accredited colleges and universities, has announced that Ellis University (http://ellisuonline.com) will be a partner college, an accredited institution that provides college credit for students who successfully complete courses from StraighterLine. StraighterLine selected Ellis University for its rigorous and high quality degree programs, as well as for its commitment to individual learners and their needs.
Regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (www.ncahlc.org), Ellis University offers more than 50 accredited online degrees, certificates and specializations. At Ellis University, coursework is based on real-world scenarios, enabling students to "learn by doing." Ellis online courses incorporate the latest interactive features, such as streaming video, online simulations and personalized communications tools, bringing the material to life and ensuring students stay connected to instructors and classmates.
Students who take a StraighterLine course can select Ellis University to award credit for the course. They can continue their major studies and pursue their degree through this college, or they can transfer those credits to non-partner colleges that recognize StraighterLine’s partner’s courses as equivalent programs.
Currently StraighterLine offers four entry-level curriculum courses where credit can be transferred: College Algebra, English Composition, Economics I and Accounting I. Economics II, Accounting II, Introduction to Algebra and Developmental Writing will be available in September.
“We are excited to announce Ellis University as a partner school,” said Ryan Busch, director of StraighterLine. “Their reputation and dedication to high quality online instruction make us confident that not only will our students meet their standards, but also that they will have a smooth transition in working with these institutions to finish their degrees.”
StraighterLine provides students with a new online option for obtaining required college credits from accredited colleges and universities. StraighterLine’s affordable courses are the first to include up to 24/7 live, on-demand instruction. StraighterLine offers entry-level college courses including College Algebra, English Composition, Economics I and Accounting I, with many more under development. StraighterLine students may choose to receive credit from StraighterLine’s regionally accredited partner colleges. Student-earned credits may also be transferable to non-partner colleges that recognize StraighterLine’s partner’s courses as equivalent programs. There are no set due dates for StraighterLine courses. Students may start and stop at any point with up to six months of access.
