SkillWho Surpasses 10,000 Members During Beta Launch

SkillWho, a professional and social networking site where members can share and find skills and talents, announced today it is has surpassed 10,000 members so far during its beta launch.

Encinitas, CA, September 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- SkillWho.com announced today that so far during its beta launch over 10,000 members have joined. SkillWho beta launched in May 2008, and since July nearly 1000 members per week have registered with the site and created profiles.

"We've received hundreds of emails from our users telling us that they love the site and think it's a great idea," says Paul Kitchen, Co-Founder and CTO of SkillWho. "We still have a lot of features we plan to add that will provide even more value to our users."

SkillWho.com is a professional and social networking site where members can share and find skills and talents. They can also network and meet like minded people. Members can create a profile to list their bio, experience, skills, talents, and media for each skill or talent. They can also search for skills within their social network or local community and participate in discussion forums. Members can also recommend each other similar to LinkedIn so users can find the right match for the skill or talent they are seeking.

"Our site is disrupting the web 2.0 community in a few ways," says Co-Founder Aaron Mendes who gives himself the job title of "Creative Guy" within the company. "Most professional networking sites such as LinkedIn charge fees for functional use of their site. Sites like eLance charge commissions to connect freelancers with employers. SkillWho is completely free for members. SkillWho also enables users to find skills from their friends or friends of friends, which is an advantage over sites like Craigslist and Angieslist."

SkillWho intends to become the ultimate database of skills and talents enabling people to find what they need from someone they can trust. It also intends to become a fun site where people can network professionally and socially with others. Based on current growth of the site, Management believes it will have 50,000 members by the end of 2008 and expects to have 5 million page views from at least 2 million visitors per month by summer 2009.
