Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Johnson to Appear at 2008 YES! Expo

Five-time Olympic Gold Medalist, two-time World Record Holder and BBC Sports Commentator, Michael Johnson, will be at the 2nd Annual Collin County YES! (Youth Explore Sports) Expo from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Collin Creek Mall. The expo will take place on September 13, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is free to the public.

Plano, TX, September 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Olympic gold medalist Michael johnson to appear at 2008 Yes! expo.

Five-time Olympic Gold Medalist, two-time World Record Holder and BBC Sports Commentator, Michael Johnson, will be at the 2nd Annual Collin County YES! (Youth Explore Sports) Expo from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Collin Creek Mall. The expo will take place on September 13, 2008 and is free to the public. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the expo provides parents, and their kids, an opportunity to learn more about the various programs, techniques, equipment, safety concerns and social/teamwork skills garnered through sport participation.

Johnson is an accomplished athlete, coach, Olympian, broadcaster, and entrepreneur. He serves as the president of the Michael Johnson Performance Center (MJPC) in McKinney, TX. The MJPC will be exhibiting at the 2008 YES! Expo and Johnson’s autograph signing session will immediately precede the expo’s “Mascot Challenge” finale.

About Michael Johnson: Michael Johnson has been recognized as the best 200m/400m sprinter in the history of the sport of track & field. He brings extraordinary experience and unique knowledge to the development of Michael Johnson Performance Training.

Johnson received his degree in Marketing from Baylor University where he was a standout performer.

His progressions through the ranks of track and field were swift and stunning. Johnson was elected to the United States Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2004. A dual event world champion, the likes of which were never seen before, Johnson surpassed legends and surged to the top of record books of years gone by.

Since Johnson’s retirement from track & field, he founded a successful sport management and consulting company, Ultimate Performance, working with clients ranging from the Chinese Athletic Association to some of the most successful NFL football players. He represents some of the top track and field athletes in the world, including his successor at 400 meters, 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist, 2005 World Champion, & 2008 Gold and Silver Olympic Medalist Jeremy Wariner.

Johnson has also gone on to establish himself as a leading corporate motivational speaker, and achieved success as a television commentator and personality, working for BBC sports.

About YES!: YES! provides the young people of Collin County an introduction to the people, sports and healthy activities that are offered by organizations in our North Texas community. Public, private, competitive, recreational and individual sport organizations are invited to participate in the Expo. Throughout the day, prizes will be given away, demonstrations will be performed and the Collin County Supreme Mascot will be crowned.
