Brooklyn Films Launches Pilot Episode of Animated Web Series Cowch Potatoes

Brooklyn Films announces the launching of their new animated web series Cowch PotatoesTM on Thursday, September 11, 2008. The animated comic strip series is based on two lovable twenty-something slackers named Franklin & Tyrell.

New York, NY, September 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Reminiscent of former animated icons Beavis & Butt-head, the premise of the two to three minute animated episodes is that Franklin Roosevelt Kowalski, a twenty-three year old, obese, part-time KFC employee sits all day watching TV on his couch which he shares with his best friend Tyrell Akeem Schwartz, a similarly-aged, unemployed, self-proclaimed ladies’ man, currently living in his grandmother’s garage. The two slackers comment about what they view on their forty-inch HDTV, with topics ranging from politics and religion to general pop culture.

“The series began life as a couple thirty second promos that were released on the internet and drew thousands of views on sites like FunnyorDie.com and YouTube. A website was then created with additional clips like Cowch Karaoke and Rants & Raves, all starring our two main characters,” stated Michael Helman, series creator. The website is located at www.cowchpotatoes.com. The series will run new episodes every two to three weeks for the immediate future. As the series builds its fan base, the plans are to bring the characters to DVD and eventually TV, as a fully animated series. Already the series has gained attention from investors and network MTV, who offered to license the first two promos for their web and TV outlets.

The series was created by Brooklyn Films (www.brooklynfilms.com) and is animated and voiced by Michael Helman. All writing for the series is handled by Uri Rosen and Mr. Helman. Co-producing the series is Robin C. Adams. Brooklyn Films is the production arm for Director/Producer Michael Helman for his various film-related projects. Through sister company RKV/Brooklyn Group, partnered by Mr. Helman and Mr. Adams, the two have produced dozens of music videos, multi-camera HD concerts and commercials.
