Small Business Owner Uses the Web to Market Niche Business

Small business owners are getting creative and using unconventional means of reaching their target market with Internet Marketing. One Entrepreneur has found that with a relatively small advertising budget she can see immediate results with the use of the Web.

Calgary, Canada, September 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- One small business owner in Calgary is harnessing the power of the internet to market her niche business.

Since opening in May 2006, One Tiny Suitcase (a rental company that rents children’s equipment to travelers visiting Calgary and Banff) has had their website viewed by customers in more than 80 countries, has been recommended by Trip Advisor and is regularly at the top of the google rankings. Not bad for a small start-up company. It all started when owner Stacey Corbett took a course on Search Engine Marketing sponsored by the local Alberta Women’s Entrepreneur branch.

“That course opened my eyes to the possibilities for a start-up company with a limited advertising budget. I was able to see results almost immediately.” says owner Stacey Corbett.

With no computer programming under her belt and a vague idea of what this “New Marketing” was all about, Stacey Corbett was able to create a website, begin marketing her business and have customers calling within the first two weeks. With the company going into their third year in business sales are projected to increase by 150% this year.

Search Engine Optimization, Blogs, Search Engine Advertising, Social Networking- it all adds up to getting in front of the target market. With a small advertising budget and a customer base coming to Calgary from around the world, this small business found it was essential to use the new media platforms to reach their customers.
