“History Happens!” at the Mesa Historical Museum

Mesa, AZ, September 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Mesa Historical Museum has started its first annual campaign.

For over 40 years, the Mesa Historical Museum has been the leading organization in Mesa preserving and sharing who we are, where we come from and what we may become. To continue the tradition of relevant programming and expand our community heritage, the Mesa Historical Museum is launching the “History Happens!” annual campaign with the support of nearly 30 community volunteers.

The museum has celebrated many recent successes; however, growing and maintaining a museum on an historic property is an expensive undertaking. Campaign Co-Chair Debby Elliot said: “supporting the museum through the annual campaign will invest in new programs and exhibitions that:

Incorporate cutting-edge technology in the portrayal of history-in-the-making through interactive and dynamic exhibitions.

Celebrate the unique and diverse heritage of Mesa.

Span generations with a special emphasis on making history interesting and relevant to today’s youth.”

Campaign co-chair and former Vice Mayor Claudia Walters said of the campaign “If we don’t take care of our own history, no one will.”
