Fuentek Designs and Facilitates Training Session for NASA Innovative Partnerships Program

Apex, NC, September 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Laura A. Schoppe, president of Fuentek, LLC (www.fuentek.com), has announced that the firm coordinated and executed a training session for NASA's Innovative Partnerships Program on August 4 and 5 at the NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif. The goal of the training session was to bring external industry approaches in technology infusion to NASA, ensuring that the agency can implement proven strategies within its own research centers. Andrew Hargadon, associate professor of technology management at the University of California Davis and author of How Breakthroughs Happen: The Surprising Truth About How Companies Innovate, was the keynote speaker. Other guest speakers included the director of business development from Xerox PARC, and the director of the open innovation office at Hewlett Packard. Fuentek staff, Nannette Stangle-Castor and Jack Spain, also gave several presentations on topics, including tools and techniques for creating infusion partnerships and for effective communication with various audiences, which should increase the success rate of infusion efforts at NASA.

“We are pleased that we were able to design and facilitate the training session for NASA’s Innovative Partnerships Program,” said Schoppe. “As a government organization, NASA faces a unique set of challenges with technology transfer and it is important that they are able to recognize the options that are available to them.”

“Fuentek’s foresight in bringing best practices in innovation into NASA is commendable,” said Hargadon. “It is imperative that NASA understands that innovation is not just about the technology, but also about how networks of individuals and organizations are formed to apply technology from various sources.”
