Acro Completes the Development and Implementation of Two Major IT Applications for the State of New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM, September 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Acro Service Corporation (Acro), a Michigan-based provider of information technology services across the nation with offices in Albuquerque, announced the development and implementation of two major IT applications for the State of New Mexico.

The first application, SARA (Screening, Admissions and Releases Application), which was implemented for the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD), enables the state and local government agencies to process the screening of children referred for detention. It also provides real-time tracking of children in detention and their releases statewide.

Acro also redesigned a Web site for the state’s Human Services Department (HSD) that promotes health insurance among New Mexico citizens. In addition to being more “user-friendly,” this site, called “Insure New Mexico! Solutions” (www.insurenewmexico.state.nm.us), improves the level of service to site visitors through the utilization of eligibility wizards and broker searches. It also has sections where the state’s insurance brokers can provide information regarding upcoming training events and statistical data.

A multi-agency effort within the state to provide statewide-centralized screening, detention, releases and tracking services for juveniles, SARA helps the state achieve compliance with Children’s Code and Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) in the most efficient and secure manner. It also permits the state to meet the requirements of the federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF) reporting standards.

“In terms of quality, timeliness and cost, Acro’s development and delivery of the SARA system consistently met or exceeded our goals,” said Ted Lovato, CYFD Deputy Director Juvenile Justice Services. “They were quite flexible in addressing our requirement changes without adding to the cost of the system. The SARA system is extremely easy to use and provides our agency workers with the ability to provide needed services to the state population in general and the youth in particular.”

”We are proud to have the State of New Mexico as one of our long-term clients,” said Acro Division President R.V. Rao, who coordinated the projects with Acro’s New Mexico Account Manager Diego Garcia. “Being asked to assist the agencies within the state like CYFD and HSD allows us to showcase our ability to assist a broad spectrum of organizations.”
