)-- JAMIE KREITMAN’s Flip Flops Are Constantly Being Knocked Off, and She’s Not Gonna Take It Anymore!
Knock offs are not just Canal Street’s dirty little secret anymore. Large retail discount chains such as Old Navy and Payless Shoes are now jumping on the knock-off bandwagon. JAMIE KREITMAN’s signature flip flops are like no other! Adorned with her signature feminine ribbons in both solid colors and polka dots, and rhinestone embellishments of the heart, star and brooch shaped variety… it’s no wonder that women in every income bracket would want to wear them.
Demand is so high, that stores re-order at break neck speed and according to trendy Beverly Hills boutique, BELLE COSA, “Jamie’s flip flops sell out at a rate of 80 pairs per day!”
At a retail price point of $44.00 - $48.00USD, they hardly seem out of reach to the average American consumer, however, nationwide chain stores: Payless Shoes and Old Navy would disagree.
One of the reasons that Jamie is fuming mad is a simple question of quality. “These discount stores cannot be using the same quality of product and care in their manufacturing as I am, and charging these bargain basement prices,” exclaims Kreitman.
Another, is business eithics and intellectual rights. Kreitman comments that this has been an issue in the Fashion Industry for years, and has yet to be resolved. “There are intellectual property rights to protect music, literature and other creative property. Why aren’t designers able to enjoy those same intellectual property rights for their individual designs?!”
One of Kreitman’s major accounts recently called her up distressed after seeing a shoddier version of Kreitman’s Flip Flops in Payless Shoes. Many prestige handbag and accessory companies have been dealing with this dilemma for years; namely Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
